Program Timeline

Phase 1
Registration Opens
January 5
University of Toronto students apply to participate by confirming eligibility and sharing why they want to take part in the challenge.
Phase 2
Team Confirmation & Access Granted
January 22
Teams confirm final members and designate a team captain. Confirmed teams receive access to the AWS innovation environment and YRP data resources.
Phase 3
Kick-off Event
January 23
Official launch of the challenge, including the challenge overview, expectations, judging criteria, and next steps.
Phase 4
Hacking & Development Period
January 23 – January 26
Teams design, build, and refine their solutions following the kick-off event.
Phase 5
Submissions Due
January 26, 11:59 pm
Final deadline for teams to submit all required materials for judging through the challenge platform.
Phase 6
Semi-Final Judging
January 27 – January 28
Submissions are reviewed and scored by judges, and the top teams are selected to advance.
Phase 7
Closing Event & Final Presentations
January 29
The top five teams are announced live and present their solutions to judges. Winners are selected and prizes are awarded.
